Senior Accounts Manager (REF JPBSAM22)

Role: Permanent Full-Time

Hours: 30 – 40 hr contract – working days/hours are negotiable

Main purpose:

Responsible for all aspects of managing the financial accounts of multiple companies, along with other financial aspects of the business.

Job Summary:

This role will see the Senior Accounts Manager working in our main office with potential scope for remote working in the future. Responsibility for Financial Accounts Management, Payrolls and Customer Service.

A pro-active approach is essential. Must be extremely well organised with excellent time keeping.

Responsible to: Owner.

Main tasks of the job: The following tasks will form the bulk of your work:


  • Sole responsibility to manage the financial accounts of multiple companies.
  • Keeping accurate and up to date records, using Sage 50 Cloud Accounts.
  • Posting and reconciling all bank transactions.
  • Preparing VAT returns.
  • Creating Aged Debtor Reports and chasing up aged debtors.
  • Maintaining Creditors Reports and issuing payments (dual authorisation).
  • Managing profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
  • Preparing end of year accounts.
  • Completing Custom Declarations for imported goods.
  • Completing HMRC business surveys as required.
  • Running Payroll.
  • Other general book keeping duties.
  • Answering telephones and assisting with enquiries.
  • Answering customer phone calls occasionally and assisting with enquiries.
  • Liaise with suppliers and clients to secure the best price possible on stock, services and supplies.


  • To provide consistently high standards of customer service at all times when communicating with customers.

Please note: This is not an exhaustive list and you will be expected to perform different tasks, to the best of your ability, as necessitated by The Jungle’s overall business objectives.

Essential Criteria:

  • At least three years’ experience of accounting and bookkeeping experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of Sage
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Confident, friendly and outgoing personality.
  • Own transport and full driving license

Desirable Criteria:

  • Bookkeeping or Accounting qualifications preferable, but not essential for an experienced applicant.

  • Strong attention to detail and confident verbal and written communication in English.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills – you will be working with a diverse team with whom you are required to establish effective working relations and pursue broader company objectives.
  • Must be flexible with the ability to calmly manage conflicting demands and deliver excellent results in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Ability to manage own workload and prioritise daily tasks effectively.
  • Strives for excellence and takes pride in your contribution to the companies.
  • High degree of self-motivation.

£14 – £18 per hour (Dependant on experience)
