FUNDRAISING IN 2022

Fundraising efforts for 2022

As always, in 2022 The Jungle set out to fulfil our corporate and social responsibilities by supporting many local and national charities and fundraising events. We feel it is important to support those organisations and individuals who spend their own time and energy trying to raise much needed funds for their chosen charities and causes. We are happy to be able to support these people by offering prizes, vouchers and donations which they can use as prizes or incentives.

In 2022, we handed out over 150 Gift Vouchers, our highest total ever for one year. These vouchers totaled over £8500, and helped various fundraising and charity events, being used as raffle prizes or fundraising incentives. These went towards fundraising efforts for a range of worthy causes, such as PIPS, Down Syndrome Association, Chest, Heart & Stroke, Cash For Kids, Charis Cancer Care, Save The Children, Women’s Aid, Huntington’s Disease NI, Air Ambulance NI, Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, Cancer Focus, Aware, Dogs Trust, Macmillan and many more.

We commend those people who go above and beyond in order to raise funds for their chosen charities and dedicate their own time to something worthwhile. We hosted the Cool FM/Downtown Radio teams in September, where they completed The Jungle Challenge, raising thousands for Cash for Kids. As we struggle in the midst of the biggest cost of living crisis in decades, every £35 raised through the Cash For Kids Jungle Challenge made sure one child didn’t go hungry, cold or without basic living essentials. We’ll update the total raised from The Jungle Challenge as soon as we have it!

We also supported many Parent Teacher Groups, Primary Schools, Hospital Units, Scout Groups, Nurseries and a host of other local fundraising efforts.

These incredible feats of courage and determination to support people and communities in need are an inspiration and we are more than happy to get behind them and give them an extra boost in their fundraising efforts.

Charity Partners for Rampage 2022

We hosted our annual Rampage Weekender event in May 2022. This year our chosen charity partners were The Hub Cookstown & Aware.

The Hub is a fantastic community resource providing support and access to a range of groups such as the National Autistic Society, Alzheimer’s Carers Support Group, Aware Defeat Depression and a range of other fringe groups who are in need of support. They provide access to all areas of drama, arts and crafts. The Hub is a wonderful organisation, ran by truly wonderful and caring people. The money raised was a great boost for them to help support people in the local areas and we are privileged to have been able to assist them in their work.

AWARE has an established network of support groups across the country, which are run by trained volunteers. Support groups welcome people with depression and bipolar disorder as well as carers for people with the illness. AWARE delivers mental health and well-being programmes into communities, schools, colleges, universities and workplaces. These programmes include Mood Matters programmes, Living Life to the Full, Mental Health First Aid and Mindfulness. These programmes take a preventative approach to mental ill-health and teach attendees techniques to look after their own mental health and well-being.

We were able to raise £7500 through Rampage entrance fees, donating £5000 to AWARE and £2500 to The Hub.

Moving forward

We will continue to fulfil our corporate and social responsibilities by supporting as many charities and worthy causes as we possibly can throughout 2023. We are privileged to be able to use our platform to directly raise funds and help other people’s fundraising efforts for such a wide range of causes.

This year, we will host our annual Rampage Weekender on 6th and 7th May 2023 and our Zombie Run in October as usual, so we encourage anyone to come along and experience these epic events, while using the opportunity to raise funds for causes close to your heart.

A final thank you

We’d like to thank every single person who comes along and supports The Jungle by taking part in our activities or events. Without you, we would not be in the position to be able to offer a platform to help the charities that we do. We also wouldn’t be able to help others in their own fundraising efforts. We don’t underestimate the knock on effect your support has to a wide range of charities and support groups who are in constant need of funds to continue to offer the vital services that they do.

Thank you,

The Jungle Team
