The Ultimate Family Summer Guide to The Jungle

The summer is approaching, and while we don’t always get the summer we want in Northern Ireland, there is no reason why you still can’t have fun with the family. The Jungle has been a popular family destination for more than a decade, and what better time to visit than on The Jungle’s 20^th anniversary! With plenty of activities, events, and accommodation to choose from for all ages, make The Jungle your family’s ultimate destination this summer with this helpful guide!

For the Entire Family

• Archery – Test your marksmanship skills and earn the bragging rights in your family. We have bows for all ages, so the entire family can compete against each other to see who can hit the most bullseyes. With indoor and outdoor archery ranges available, this is a perfect activity for the unpredictable Northern Ireland weather.
• Body Zorb Football – Gear up with an upper-body zorb and bounce around the football pitch with the entire family. This is great fun even if you’re not a fan of football, as crashing into each other and bouncing around is the main part of this activity!
• Laser Tag – Settle family feuds or team up against other families in an exhilarating game of Laser Tag! With up to 10 different battle zones, your adaptability and sense of adventure will be tested. There is also a fun, optional add-on for the adults – brand-new ‘Taser Tag’ headbands will give adults a small shock when hit, so the kids can get their revenge!
• Llama Trekking – If your family is in the mood for a bit of relaxation, why not take one of our furry friends for a walk around our picturesque wooded area? Your walk not only includes your very own llama, but also an experienced guide who will teach you more about these gentle giants, as well as The Jungle itself!
• Zorbing – Get into a giant zorb ball and roll down the hill at speed – doesn’t that sound like fun? Two people can fit into our zorb balls, so you can look at each other while you scream for dear life. To spice things up, you can opt for one of our hydro balls, adding a bit of water to the equation. Remember that you need to be at least 4ft8 to do Zorbing!

For the Kids

• Kids Adventure Games – The kids can’t settle on an activity? Give them the option of six activities instead! The Kids Adventure Games include Archery, Bungee Trampoline, Climbing Wall, Pedal Boats, Quad Train, and Rodeo Ride, so the kids can experience a little bit of everything!
• Kids Tree Top Adventure Course – If your kids are a bit more adventurous at heart, they can tackle our high ropes obstacle course designed specifically for kids! They will take on various nets, bridges, and swinging obstacles, while 15 feet above the ground! And kids aren’t the only ones who get to have all the fun. Adults can join for the same price!

The Jungle’s famous Family Fun Days are perfect for experiencing everything The Jungle has to offer! And best of all, you don’t need to book individual activities. Just book entry to the Family Fun Day online, and buy tokens on-site – much like a fun fair! With more than 15 activities available on any given Family Fun Day, there is something for all the family to enjoy. And you can also bring your four-legged family members with you. There are six Family Fun Days planned for this year, each with a different theme.

Vintage Rally – Saturday 7^th of June

The Jungle will once again host the annual Vintage Rally in collaboration with the Mid Ulster Vintage Vehicle Club this summer. Expect the usual Family Fun Day activities, plus vintage cars, motorbikes, and tractors, lawnmower racing, tractor pulling, tractor games, live music, and even a dog show!

Farming Fun Day – Sunday 29^th of June

Embrace your farmer spirit, with a special farm machinery exhibition, animal encounters, natural arts & crafts, as well as our Boot Scootin’ Boogie.

Superheroes & Princesses – Sunday 13^th of July & Sunday 10^th of August

Unleash your inner superhero in our Superhero Training Zone or your inner princess at our Princess Dance Party. We will also have loads of superheroes and princesses walking around, so don’t forget to snap a photo with them! Fancy dress is strongly encouraged, and we will even have spot prizes throughout the day!

Book Day – Sunday 27^th of July & Sunday 24^th of August

Inspired by World Book Day, we decided to put our Jungle twist on the event. Come for the fun activities, but stay for the chance to swap pre-loved books and costumes. You can also enjoy children’s story book reading sessions throughout, and don’t forget to visit our creative kids corner!

The Jungle’s Ultimate Adventure Summer Scheme is back for 2025, with 5 exciting days of adventure! Our summer scheme is designed for children aged 7-12 years. If you have a bunch of bored kids at home, just drop them off at The Jungle and we’ll do the rest! With full days of an exciting blend of activities, team challenges, and unforgettable memories, your kids will have fun while also making new friends. All activities are delivered by professional instructors in the picturesque Jungle, as well as a day at Splash Outdoor Waterpark, with each day offering kids something different!

Day 1 – Ice Breakers & MEGA Fun Day

Day 2 – Laser Tag, Tie Dye T-shirts, Sports Day

Day 3 – Splash Activities

Day 4 – Tree Top Adventure, Arts & Crafts, Scavenger Hunt

Day 5 – Colour War & Team Adventure Challenges

*Each day will start at 9:30AM and finish at 4PM. Drop-off time is between 9:15-9:30AM.

Let your kids get in tune with nature on our 200-acre mass of land at The Jungle. Our Forest School provides kids with an outdoor learning platform based in our very own enchanting woodlands. Delivered by Level 3 accredited Forest School leaders, your kids will take part in various activities including a mud kitchen, introduction to fire skills, tool using, forest art, and story-time across two days. They will not only learn valuable skills but also engage with nature and develop an appreciation for the natural world. One adult can also join per child, but it is not essential.

Why not make it a family weekend this summer and stay in one of The Jungle’s unique and comfy accommodations? All our accommodation includes bedding, a bathroom, and a kitchenette, with our cabins also including a private hot tub where the entire family can relax! We are planning to add hot tubs to our new and refurbished Glamping Pods later this summer.

A-Frames

These luxury, two-storey cabins feature insulated wood, double-glazed doors, a kitchenette, a bathroom, and a private hot tub. Filled with natural light and a unique lookout window, they offer a cosy retreat after an adventure-filled day at The Jungle.

The two-storey cabin sleeps up to six and offers panoramic views of the Jungle pond and nearby activity lawn. Just steps from the Lazy Llama restaurant, it’s a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature. With large windows, a private bathroom, and a kitchen area, it’s the perfect blend of comfort and convenience.

Log Cabin

Relax in style with our spacious new Log Cabin, perfect for groups of up to six. Surrounded by nature and overlooking the activity lawn, it features a private wood-fired hot tub, modern bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchenette. Enjoy outdoor dining with a complimentary BBQ and soak up the peaceful Jungle setting. Inside, you’ll find cosy beds, a dining area, and everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Glamping Pods

The newly upgraded Glamping Pods at The Jungle blend rustic charm with modern luxury, set in a stunning 200-acre natural landscape. Each pod sleeps up to four, featuring comfy double beds, a private bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchenette for a hassle-free stay. Bright and airy with stylish interiors, they also include a lounge area, outdoor seating, and a personal BBQ space. Built from insulated, treated wood, these pods will also include private hot tubs to be installed later in the summer.

All the exciting activities will surely leave your family starving, but don’t worry, our on-site Lazy Llama restaurant has you covered. The Lazy Llama brings authentic BBQ flavours to the heart of Northern Ireland. Open to everyone – no booking required – it’s the perfect spot to enjoy smoky classics like burgers and ribs, with indoor and outdoor seating available. Open Saturdays and Sundays from 12–6pm (extended hours from July), it’s first come, first served, with takeaway options and BYOB welcome. Dog-friendly and relaxed, it’s ideal for a casual bite, whether you’re adventuring or just passing through.
