Rampage Weekender 2025 – Everything You Need to

Rampage Weekend is back for 2025, and it’s as tough and fun as it has ever been! Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a newbie testing the waters, this guide should help you (no promises) finish the race with ease and with both shoes still on! From tips on what to wear to pre- and post-race preparation, you will have nothing to worry about, apart from finishing ahead of all the rest of the losers! Join the ranks of the Rampage warriors with this guide and cross the finish line with pride – or what’s left of it, anyway!

Gearing Up for Success

Running Shoes

Trail running shoes are probably the best option for Rampage, as these are designed to tackle any type of terrain, whether that is rocky trails or muddy swamps. Some of the more premium ones should also help your feet keep dry and cool – invaluable during the gruelling run!

If you don’t have any trail running shoes, your good old faithful pair of running shoes should do the trick. Just a quick heads up before you unpack your £200 pair of limited edition kicks you got last Christmas. You will go through the ringer during Rampage, your shoes included. So, don’t bring your best pair of shoes, as they will likely get wet and muddy at best, and at the bottom of a swamp at the worst!

Sports Clothing

Clothing makes the man (or woman!), and it is no different for Rampage. Follow these simple tricks, and you should be fine:

  • We recommend going for somewhat tight-fitting clothes. You will get wet and muddy during the run, so loose clothes will only drag you down.
  • Go for clothing that grants you a full range of motion. When we say tight-fitting clothes, we don’t mean your favourite t-shirt you have from when you were 16, but can barely pull on. Underwarmers are a big favourite among Rampage runners. Shorts are also pretty much essential!
  • Any fast-drying clothing can be a huge advantage, as you will have to battle through water and mud.
  • You will be going through quite a lot of water, but please, for the love of God, don’t forget to put socks on. They will not only give you extra grip, but also keep your feet dry if you have some quick-drying ones!
  • You shouldn’t need gloves, but they can give you that extra advantage when scaling tricky obstacles. If you do go for gloves, make sure they are tough but breathable.

Accessories

Here are some optional accessories to consider:

  • Sports Watches – If you’re taking Rampage seriously, you might want to wear a sports watch/fitness tracker to track your progress. But please make sure it’s waterproof!
  • Headbands – Could be helpful to keep mud and water out of your eyes and keep your eyes firmly on the prize. If you’re a seasoned Rampage veteran, bring your branded headband from previous years to show off!
  • Goggles – Could give you the extra edge during the water and mud obstacles!

Maybe you just want to have fun and go a little crazy. In that case, feel free to ignore all of the above and make your Rampage attire into your very own canvas. We’ve had superheroes, princesses, and police officers running in the past. What will you run as?

Pre-Race

Don’t be fashionably late for Rampage, because you might not be able to run at all! Arrive at least 45 minutes before your race time to register. Check your confirmation email for your time slot. Once you’re here, park in the main car park across from The Jungle. Walk across the small bridge to the subway tunnel, which will lead you to The Jungle site.

Make sure you have fuelled up before the race – we don’t want to fish you out of the ponds if you pass out. Carbo-loading is always a good idea, but no Fettuccine Alfredo (IYKYK)! Also, don’t forget to warm up and stretch properly – we don’t want you pulling something during the race.

There will be a bag drop available on the day for £2 per bag. Make sure to bring some change!

PLEASE DOWNLOAD, PRINT AND COMPLETE THE RISK ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FORM ATTACHED TO YOUR CONFIRMATION EMAIL OR ON THE RAMPAGE WEBPAGE AND HAND IN AT REGISTRATION WHEN YOU ARRIVE. THERE WILL BE NO FORMS AVAILABLE ON THE DAY. IF YOU ARE THE GROUP ORGANISER YOU SHOULD DOWNLOAD AND PASS THEM ON TO YOUR GROUP.

Post-Race

Congratulations! You just completed Rampage. Make sure you follow these tips:

  • Stay warm – Bring a warm jacket or coat for after the race. You will be wet and we don’t want you to get sick!
  • Towel – We’ve got some outdoor showers for a quick rinse, as well as a couple of shower blocks for a proper wash – bring 50p coins for these.
  • Change of clothes – You just went through hell. Your clothes will be muddy and likely barely hanging on. Make sure to bring a change of clothes so you don’t stink all day and get the car dirty!
  • Plenty of water – After just finishing a 5 or 10K, you will likely be starving and dehydrated. Your ticket includes a hot lunch from the Lazy Llama restaurant, but make sure you bring some extra water to replenish those fluids.

Campers

For those who purchased the Rampage & Camping combo, here’s what you will need:

  • Tent – Size doesn’t matter, but easy assembly is key. The last thing you want after a gruelling run is fiddling with your tent for an hour.
  • Sleeping bag – Make sure you bring a cosy sleeping bag. You don’t want to sleep on the ground.
  • Airbeds/sleeping mats – Sleeping on the grass can help you get in tune with nature, but your muscles will appreciate something softer after a demanding run.
  • Camping chairs – There’s nothing quite like sitting around a campfire bonding with your fellow Rampage finishers!

Don’t forget. As part of your camping ticket, you will enjoy a tasty breakfast bap the next morning. Breakfast will be served from 09:30 to 10:30.

Partywear

This year’s Rampage afterparty theme will be the good old faithful ‘Bright & Tight’. Let your imagination run as wild as you did during the actual run. We don’t want to give you too many instructions, as the crazier the better, but try to keep in with the theme and wear something bright!
