Service Technician Position

Post Title: Service Technician

Reports to: Managing Director

Location: Based at The Jungle NI, 60 Desertmartin Road, Moneymore, BT45 7RB but will include travel across Ireland.

Job Summary:

The Service Technician will be responsible for maintaining and carrying out regular services across a large range of equipment and logging all information to our records system. Our equipment ranges from Paintball kit, Inflatables, Segways, Archery apparatus to Halloween and Christmas props, cables and lighting equipment.  Also perform periodic services on our tractors, ATV’s and generators.

You will have an excellent eye for detail and the communication skills necessary to engage effectively with a diverse range of people, prospective sponsors, clients and customers.

A pro-active approach is essential, as well as skills of budget control, time management, organisation and negotiation. A flexible approach is essential as you will be required to work as part of a team and alone.

Key Responsibilities INCLUDE:

  • Maintain & repair all aspects of our Paintball equipment
  • Maintain & repair all aspects of our archery equipment
  • Maintain & repair all aspects of our inflatable equipment (Zorbs)
  • Maintain & repair all aspects of our Segway fleet
  • Maintain & repair all aspects of our teambuilding apparatus
  • Maintain & repair all of our lighting and special effects inventory
  • Maintain & service our generators, tractors, ATV’s and machinery
  • Maintain & service rodeo bull and bungee equipment
  • Assist with general repairs & maintenance across our site
  • Assist with event builds and dismantles
  • All inspections, repairs & routine services to be logged to our bespoke records system
  • Manage our store, keep tidy and control stock levels
  • To carry out any reasonable duties as requested.

Please note: This is not an exhaustive list and you will be expected to perform different tasks, to the best of your ability, as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and The Jungle’s overall business objectives.

Essential Skills and Training:

  • Educated to secondary level
  • A minimum 2 yrs experience working with machinery/engines
  • Knowledge and basic understanding of electrics/electronics
  • Experience identifying faults in machinery/equipment and performing repairs
  • Good understanding of IT systems (we use a software based records system)
  • Capable of planning and implementing service regimes
  • Demonstrable team-working skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Capable of DIY
  • Full Driving License
  • Understanding of Health & Safety and ability to identify risks and address them

Desirable Skills and Training

  • Experience working with electrics/electronics
  • Joinery/carpentry skills
  • Tractor and dumper driving experience
  • Chainsaw experience (CS30 ticket)
  • Forklift and digger driving experience
  • Health and Safety Qualifications

This is a full-time permanent role; normal hours of work  8am to 4:30pm. However, the successful candidate will be required to assist in the delivery of Jungle events wherever and whenever necessary – this will require unsociable hours of work particularly during October and December.
